Physician to Board of Trustees

 

Hopewell, VA - Local orthopedic surgeon Sharad N. Saraiya, MD has been named to the John Randolph Medical Center Board of Trustees. Dr. Saraiya, who was also recently appointed Chief of Staff at the medical center, practices with Colonial Orthopaedics, Inc., which has offices in Hopewell and Colonial Heights.

 

Dr. Saraiya is a graduate from the Baroda Medical College in Baroda, India where he also completed a residency in orthopedics. He completed a Clinical Fellowship and residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Catholic Medical Center of Brooklyn and Queens in New York. Saraiya has a Master of Surgery degree. He is Board Certified in Orthopaedics in India, as well as by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.

 

"We are pleased to welcome Dr. Saraiya to the hospital's Board of Trustees, " stated E. Bernard Boone, III, CHE, Chief Executive Officer at John Randolph. "His vast years of experience will help facilitate our future goals for the medical center as we continue to provide quality healthcare and strive to make John Randolph both the medical provider and employer of choice in the Tri-Cities/Chester area," he concluded.

 

Saraiya joins George Elder, Milton Hargrave, Bruce Miller, M.D., Clifford V. Morris, M.D., Baljit S. Sidhu, M.D., Nilda J. Tensen, M.D., Charles E. Townes, June Tunstall, M.D., Marion Williams and Boone on the Board of Trustees.

 

JRMC EAG Sponors Food Drive!

 

The JRMC Employee Advisory Group is sponsoring a food drive to help feed those less fortunate in their community.

 

Canned and non-perishable items are being collected now through the end of July and will be donated to the Hopewell Food Pantry.

 

The EAG is also sponsoring a Magazine collection drive. 2007 magazines in good condition are being collected and distributed throughout the hospital for patients and their families in waiting rooms and other public areas.
